Sage Cowan is a spirited shepherd mix, likely with husky thrown in, who lives up to her name with her vibrant energy and dazzling ice-blue eyes! She's a true explorer, always sniffing out new adventures, and if there's water to be found – be it a pond, puddle, or ditch – Sage will be in it! She's a responsive companion who walks beautifully on a leash and listens well to commands. While she enjoys a good game of "keep away" during off-leash play in the yard, she's always eager to reconnect with her people. Sage also loves to wrestle with active male dogs, showing off her athletic build. She's a social butterfly, too, calmly observing and charming crowds at rescue events with gentle licks and a relaxed demeanor. Sage is vaccinated, spayed, and microchipped, and is ready to find her forever adventure!
Ideal Home
Sage would thrive in an active home or a large yard, farm, or ranch where she can get plenty of daily exercise.
Ongoing Health
Sage was treated for heartworm and is now on prevention. She has also been treated for glass cuts on her paw that she sustained during a storm.
Training & Support
Sage enjoys playing "keep away" during off-leash time, which may require some gentle redirection.

Transporation
Sage is currently being fostered in Texas. Transportation options are available to the PNW (WA, UT, ID), Midwest (MN, WI, MI, OH, IL, IN), and select New England States (NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT) through our pet transport partners. Canadian adopters will need to drive to a meet location in the USA.
