Tommy is a roughly 10-month-old male Terrier mix who currently weighs about 27 lbs and is expected to grow to around 37 lbs. He was born on April 10, 2024, and was rescued along with his mother in Matamoros, Mexico. Tommy is a sweet boy who is affectionate, playful, friendly, and loving. He's still learning to trust new people and can be a little shy and nervous at first. He's very active and enjoys running and playing with his dog friends.
Ideal Home
Tommy would thrive in a home that understands the needs of rescued animals and is prepared to offer them protection and education. An experienced owner with a background in dog behavior and training, as well as high tolerance and patience for rescued puppies, would be ideal. Adopters should realize that rescued dogs may have experienced trauma and require an adjustment period.
Ongoing Health
Tommy has a comprehensive health protocol. He is neutered, microchipped, and has received two DHPPI vaccines, a Rabies vaccine, and a Bordetella vaccine. He has been dewormed and tested negative for heartworm. He also has a negative 4DX test and receives monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. He comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
It's important to note that Tommy is not house-trained. Rescued animals often need time to adjust and learn, and patience and understanding are a must.

- A virtual meet-and-greet with Tommy and his foster will be arranged.

Transportation
Tommy is currently fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transport is available to the East Coast, delivering to the adopter's home address. The transport fee is $400 and is paid by the adopter prior to departure.
