Bubba Bisquit, who we affectionately call Slick, is a handsome approximately 2-year-old boy with soulful eyes and a gentle heart. Unlike dogs who rush to greet you, Slick is still learning that the world can be a safe and loving place. He was rescued from a kill shelter and, as a result, carries some emotional scars. He's currently in boarding with caring volunteers who are helping him build confidence and learn to trust. With each day, Slick takes another small step forward, becoming a little braver than before. He's not the dog who will immediately jump into your lap; instead, he's the observer, the learner, who will slowly decide you're his person. The bond you form with a dog like Slick is incredibly special, as shy dogs often prove to be the most rewarding. They teach us patience, trust, and the profound power of kindness. Slick is looking for a family willing to give him the time he needs to settle in, decompress, and discover what it truly means to belong. In return, you'll witness the beautiful transformation of a once-frightened dog into a confident, beloved family member. His rescue gave him a second chance; now, he's hoping someone will give him his first real home. Could that someone be you?
