Meet Dutch – Your Future Velcro Shadow with a Heart of Gold (and a Nose for Butter)
Dutch is a handsome, goofy, 103-pound snuggle bug who also loves hiking and supervising your kitchen activities. This 4-year-old, neutered male Doberman has floppy ears, a docked tail, and a heart as big as his paws. Dutch is a sweet, energetic boy who lives for fetch, trail adventures, and playing chase with his current dog friends. He’s dog-friendly overall but can be reactive on leash and sometimes has strong opinions about fluffy dogs, so continued training and management are important. Dutch loves car rides but might bark at bikes or loud noises. At his core, Dutch is a loyal, loving dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side, whether you’re hiking a trail, binge-watching a show, or just hanging out on the couch. He’s looking for his forever home through no fault of his own and is ready to be your ride-or-die companion.
Ideal Home
A home that can provide continued training and management for leash reactivity.
Ongoing Health
Dutch is currently on Prozac, prescribed by his previous owners due to barking excessively when left alone. They reported that the medication has been helpful in curbing this behavior.
Training & Support
Dutch is house trained and crate trained. He walks well on a prong collar and is improving with a harness. He learns quickly, especially with tasty rewards. Continued training and management for leash reactivity are recommended.
