Toby is a charming 1-year-old French mix who weighs about 11 lbs. He's bursting with love, affection, and a playful spirit. Toby absolutely loves going for walks, running, and playing with his canine friends. He has a special soft spot for men and is eager to share his joy with his new family. Despite a difficult past where he was abandoned and injured, Toby has made a full recovery and is now healthy and ready for his second chance at a happy life. He can sometimes have bursts of energy, but with plenty of play, walks, and love, he'll thrive in an active and patient home.
Ideal Home
Toby would do best in an active home with a family that enjoys outdoor activities. A tall, fenced backyard is a must for him to safely explore and play. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue and a deep understanding of the needs and behaviors of rescued animals. Experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly recommended to help Toby channel his energy positively. He also requires a high level of patience and tolerance as he adjusts.
Ongoing Health
Toby is up-to-date on all his vaccinations (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), has been dewormed, and is microchipped. He has tested negative for heartworm and received monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Nexgard Spectra). He also has a negative 4DX test and a health certificate. He is spayed/neutered and has a certificate for this procedure.
Training & Support
Toby is not currently house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this aspect of his care. Given his past experiences, he may need time to adjust and build trust. Providing a consistent routine, clear boundaries, and a safe, loving environment will be key to his success.

Transporation
Toby is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation is available door-to-door for a fee of $400 USD. This includes scheduled trips about 3-4 times per year, with a contracted transport company that ensures safe travel. You will receive real-time updates throughout your pet's journey, and the transport team will conduct a final home review upon arrival.
