Meet Pudding!

Hello there! You might see me listed as Amarillo, but my heart's true name is Pudding. My journey hasn't always been easy, but I'm still here, hoping to find a loving home to call my own. I was once on the euthanasia list at a high-kill shelter while pregnant and heartworm positive. Thankfully, I was rescued and became a wonderful mom to my puppies. Once they were weaned, I earned the sweet nickname "happy hippo"! Life took another turn when I was attacked by another dog, which has left me anxious and fearful around other dogs. Despite these challenges, I'm still a sweet, smart, and affectionate girl who is ready to find my forever family.

Ideal Home

Pudding would thrive in a quiet and predictable adult-only home. She needs a home with no other pets, as her past experiences have made her wary of other animals. A secure, fenced yard is a must, so she can enjoy the outdoors safely. She has a low energy level and prefers gentle days and evenings.

Ongoing Health

Pudding is a heartworm survivor.

Training & Support

Pudding is housetrained. While she may be cautious at first, she is very affectionate once she feels safe and secure. She's looking for a family who understands her history and can provide a calm environment.
