Diego

Diego is a 2-year-old, 60lb bundle of love and resilience. He's a smart, affectionate, and loyal boy who is protective of his people. Despite a difficult past where he likely experienced neglect and fear, Diego still loves people and is eager to learn. He's house-trained, knows basic commands like sit, down, bed/place, and go, and is great with adults and children. Diego is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, which is fully covered by the rescue.

Ideal Home

Diego would thrive in a home that can provide him with the guidance, consistency, and safety he deserves. Due to his high prey drive, he cannot live with cats. He is also a fence-scaling jumper, so a secure yard is extremely important. While he can be overstimulated and reactive around other animals due to his past, he does well with dogs his size with slow introductions.

Ongoing Health

Diego is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. The rescue is covering all costs associated with his treatment.

Training & Support

Diego is still learning leash manners and basic obedience, and he will need a committed adopter who understands that healing takes time and patience. He has made significant progress but will benefit from continued positive reinforcement and structure.
