My name is Snickerdoodle, and I'm a 4-month-old bundle of energy and intelligence with stunning gray eyes! I'm not your average puppy; I'm incredibly smart and love to be challenged, which means I'm looking for a dedicated adopter who's ready for an adventure. I make my foster parents laugh every day with my silly antics and am always eager to learn new things. I'm already kennel trained, sleep through the night, and am about 90% potty trained, letting you know when I need to go out by whining or ringing a bell. I know six commands reliably and am quickly mastering "leave it" and "taking treats nicely." My foster mom says I'm the easiest dog she's ever trained, learning "down" in just 10 minutes! I love to go on walks, runs, and hikes, and I'd excel in obedience, agility, or scent work.
Ideal Home
I need a home that can provide consistent daily training, exercise, and mental stimulation. If you're looking for a low-maintenance lap dog, I'm probably not the best fit, as I need an active lifestyle to thrive. I love meeting new people, but I can get overly excited, so a home without very young children might be best until I learn proper play manners. I'm fearless and curious, not easily scared by loud noises, and I'm always interested in what humans are up to. I'm still figuring out my feelings about living with other dogs. I get excited to play with them, but I can be a bit bossy, so a calm and easy-going canine companion would be ideal if I were to have one. However, I'm also perfectly happy being the only dog. I have a strong prey drive and would not be a good fit for a home with cats or other small critters.
Ongoing Health
I am a healthy puppy with no known ongoing health conditions.
Training & Support
My intelligence is a superpower, but it means I require daily mental engagement. If I don't get enough exercise and one-on-one training, I can become bored and start chasing my tail, which is a sign of frustration. This means I need hours of combined fetch and command practice daily; regular play alone isn't enough for me. I need an adopter committed to continuing my socialization, especially in my first year, to ensure I maintain my good behavior.
