Pumpkin Lumpkin is a two-year-old, large Redbone Coonhound mix with a personality as sweet and soft as melted marshmallow. She's a low-maintenance lady who adores comfort, whether it's a plush couch, a cozy dog bed, or your lap. Pumpkin is incredibly well-mannered, walks beautifully on leash, and enjoys peaceful strolls in the yard. She's gentle and affectionate with people, greeting everyone with a happy wag and melting into love once she feels comfortable. She's also a polite and unproblematic companion for other dogs, preferring a calm coexistence over rowdy play. Pumpkin has shown potential to be a great family dog and could also live with calm, dog-savvy cats. While she's generally quiet, she can be vocal about her opinions, so a home with a yard or a more hound-friendly apartment would be ideal. Pumpkin is currently working on her wellness journey, carrying a little extra fluff, but she remains a happy and easygoing girl.
Ideal Home
Pumpkin would thrive in a home that embraces a slower pace of life, with plenty of opportunities for leisurely walks and ample opportunities for naps. She’d love a soft couch to call her own and humans who appreciate her magnificent floppy ears. She would do well as a spoiled solo princess or with another respectful, lower-energy dog. A chill cat companion who enjoys peaceful coexistence would also be a good fit.

Training & Support
Pumpkin is an incredibly easy and sweet dog who has been wonderful in the home. She walks beautifully on leash and has good manners. Her trainer recommends moderation with snacks.

Pumpkin is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide using our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick-up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
