Brutus

Brutus is a wonderful senior boy who deserves his happily ever after. He came to us as a very unhappy and scared boy from a local shelter. He was bitey, hard to handle, and sad. It's believed he was in a lot of pain, as he had 22 rotten teeth that needed pulling and a ruptured anal gland. He also has a grade 4/5 heart murmur, making his survival of the shelter trauma truly amazing.

Once his teeth were pulled, his anal glands resolved, his infection cleared with antibiotics, and his heart medication was sorted, he transformed into a completely different dog! He's now cuddly, playful with other tiny dogs, and loves his treats. We are sad he had such a rough life before being rescued but are excited to see him spend the rest of his days being doted on.

Ideal Home

Brutus would do best in a home where he can continue to feel safe and loved. He has shown he can be playful with other tiny dogs. He is not suited for homes with children under 8.

Ongoing Health

Brutus will require two heart medications that cost approximately $80 per month. Six-month check-ups are recommended to ensure his heart medication dosage is correct.

Training & Support

Brutus was initially bitey and hard to handle due to pain, but once his medical issues were addressed, he became much more social. He is house-trained.
