Meet Gina!
Gina is a 1-year-old, 56lb spayed female Belgian Malinois mix who had a rough start in life, being found abandoned as a puppy near a busy road. Thankfully, a wonderful foster home has given her the chance to find a loving family of her own. She's a sweet girl who loves to play, especially tug-of-war with her smaller dog friends. While she's great with dogs of all sizes in her foster home, she can be a little wary of unfamiliar, larger dogs due to a past negative experience and will do best with slow introductions. She is not a fan of cats and would do best in a cat-free home. Gina thrives on human attention and would do well in an active household with older, dog-savvy children (10+) as she can be jumpy when excited. She adores toys and will happily collect them all for herself or engage in a game of fetch. Gina is a smart cookie who is house and crate trained, walks well on a leash, and doesn't show signs of separation anxiety. She does prefer to enjoy her treats solo and is in a chewing phase, so she'll need guidance on appropriate chew toys. We believe Gina will be a large dog when fully grown and is looking for a family that understands the commitment of raising an active, big pup with plenty of socialization, positive training, and enrichment.
Ideal Home
Gina would do best in an active home with a family who will play with her daily. She would also do well with a family with older (10 and up) dog-savvy children, a couple, or someone living alone. It is recommended she have another dog in the home for companionship and to help her burn off energy. She would thrive with adopters who can provide regular socialization, positive training, and plenty of outlets for exercise, play, and enrichment. A cat-free home is recommended.
