Riggs is a sweet, gentle, and shy nine-month-old Anatolian Shepherd who came to us from a hoarding situation with over 40 dogs. While the dogs were cared for, Riggs is still learning the ropes of everyday life due to limited socialization. He's a natural introvert who prefers a calm approach and time to observe before engaging. Riggs does well with other dogs and cats, and will thrive with a confident canine companion to show him the way. He'll need a fenced yard for his safety and peace of mind, as he's not a fan of loud noises or sudden commotion. Children over 10 are recommended, as Riggs prefers a calm environment without the unpredictability of younger kids. He loves snacks, dog friends, gentle people, and a consistent, comfortable indoor temperature. Loud holidays like the Fourth of July are not his favorite, and he'd appreciate a home that understands his need for quiet. Riggs is looking for a laid-back household with a dog buddy, a fenced yard, and people who will offer him structure, kindness, and time to blossom.
Ideal Home
Riggs would do best in a calm, laid-back home with a confident, friendly dog to help him feel more secure. He needs a fenced yard and would be happiest with children over the age of 10 who can respect his need for a quieter environment.
