Meet Moxie!
This spirited almost-nine-year-old Korean Jindo, currently in Ashburn, VA, has a quiet strength matched only by the golden glow of her soft tan coat. Moxie's journey began far from here, but today, she's searching for a peaceful home where she can thrive as the devoted companion she was born to be. At 36 pounds, she's a medium-sized girl with a gentle soul and a deep love for routine, calm surroundings, and her favorite thing in the world: head scratches! She'll happily sit beside you, nudging your hand every now and then just to remind you she's there and ready for more love. Playtime is an event for Moxie! She enjoys a good game of tug and takes great pride in disarming squeaky toys with expert precision. She also loves the great outdoors, especially when she gets to explore the neighborhood on long-leash walks or keep an eye out for backyard critters. Moxie is fully house-trained, does well when left alone for short periods, and knows commands like "sit," "down," and "find it."
Ideal Home
Moxie would thrive in a calm household with respectful older children and adults who can understand and honor her routines, boundaries, and need for personal space. She is not compatible with other pets and would do best as the only animal in the home. Thunderstorms can unsettle her, but a calm, reassuring presence helps her ride them out.
Ongoing Health
No specific ongoing health conditions were noted in the listing.
Training & Support
Moxie has a history of resource guarding, particularly around food and high-value toys, and she has bitten in the past when she felt pressured or uncomfortable in those moments. With structure, routine, and thoughtful management, she has made meaningful progress in her current home. Moxie is looking for a confident, experienced pet parent who uses positive reinforcement and can maintain the calm, predictable environment where she feels safe and understood.
