Daisy Mae is a beautiful 2-year-old, 35lb spayed female pittie mix who has overcome a difficult start in life. Rescued from a case of abuse and neglect, she weighed just 18 lbs at six months old. It took months of patient care for her to learn that gentle hands meant love. Today, Daisy Mae is a happy, affectionate, and playful dog, ready to find a family to give her the safety and devotion she deserves. She's outgoing, smart, and affectionate, loving car rides, heavy chew toys, and simply being near her people. While she may be a little shy when first meeting strangers, she warms up quickly and enjoys attention once she feels secure.
Ideal Home
Daisy Mae adores children of all ages and is gentle and loving with them. She doesn't require another dog in the home to be happy and would thrive as an only pet. If placed with another dog, slow introductions are essential, and she would do best with a calm, confident companion who can handle her playful enthusiasm.
Ongoing Health
Daisy Mae is in great shape. She does have slightly runny eyes, which her foster suspects are due to environmental allergies that flare up during rainy times of the year. This doesn't require any treatment beyond occasional gentle cleaning and awareness of seasonal changes.
Training & Support
Daisy Mae enjoys romping with other dogs once comfortable, though she can be a bit bossy during play and benefits from slow introductions. She does best with balanced or confident dogs who can match her enthusiasm. Because of her past experience with food insecurity, Daisy Mae eats and enjoys treats in her crate to help her feel safe. She may bark at other dogs walking by when she's eating, so she's happiest when given space for mealtime and a calm environment. She is great on leash, fully house-trained, and crate-trained, sleeping soundly through the night.
