Sentry is an approximately 6.5-month-old male Retriever/Pit Bull mix, weighing around 40 pounds, with an estimated birthdate of January 2026. He's expected to be a large dog when fully grown. Sentry was rescued with his mother and siblings from a remote area and has since grown up in a loving foster home. He is a happy, affectionate, and playful puppy who loves to cuddle, play with his siblings, and go for walks. Sentry is eager to please and is described as a goofy, loving, and confident companion. He has a joyful spirit and greets everyone with enthusiasm.
Ideal Home
Sentry would thrive in a home that can provide continued socialization, positive reinforcement, and consistency to help him mature into a well-rounded adult dog. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would do well with a resident dog who can act as a positive role model. If you don't currently have a dog, a proactive plan for continued canine socialization, such as training classes or playdates, is essential. Due to his age, homes where someone is not routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time are preferred, allowing for regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, and training. He has been around children and has done well, but has not been tested with cats.
Ongoing Health
No specific ongoing health conditions are mentioned.
Training & Support
Sentry is potty trained and is continuing to learn leash skills and basic obedience. He is eager to learn and will benefit from ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice. Continued socialization is highly recommended to build his confidence.
