Flora, a 3-year-old spayed female Carolina Dog mix weighing 46 pounds, is a playful and energetic bundle of joy! Affectionately known as Flora, Flory, Lory, or Sweetpea, she absolutely loves to wrestle and be chased. Her foster parents describe her as a total love bug who enjoys snuggling. Flora is also very smart and loves learning new tricks, making her a wonderful companion. She thrives in a moderately active home and enjoys everyday activities like walks, sunbathing, and birdwatching. While she can be a work in progress, the love and companionship she'll provide in return are immeasurable!
Ideal Home
Flora would do best in a home with someone who is often around to provide companionship and engage in activities like walks, jogs, and games of fetch. She would thrive in a home with no other pets or with a well-balanced dog of similar age, size, and energy level. Due to her nervousness around new children and stranger danger with new people, she may prefer an adult household at this time.

Training & Support
Flora has shown some leash reactivity, which her foster parents have been working on with positive reinforcement. She can be nervous around new children and strangers, often barking at them, especially if they move quickly. Consistent training using positive reinforcement will be key to helping her feel more secure around new dogs and stimuli. While she has shown some anxiety in a crate at home, she has no issues when boarded in a crate, and she can be unsupervised out of a crate at home without any problems. She is fully housebroken and needs reminders to take treats gently.
