Nora is a 2-year-old, 32-pound Caramelo Dog / Labrador Retriever mix with a radiant caramel coat and an unquenchable zest for life! She’s a social butterfly who adores dogs, children, and adults alike. Nora is brimming with energy and happiness, always ready for a good run, a fun game, or an adventure. Her past started rough in Houston, where she and her sisters were found as vulnerable puppies. Tragically, two of her sisters were lost, but Nora and her surviving sister were rescued and given a chance at a loving future. Despite her difficult beginnings, Nora has blossomed into an affectionate, playful, and joyful dog eager to leave her past behind and find her forever family. She dreams of a home where she can feel secure, cherished, and free to be the happy dog she was always meant to be.
Ideal Home
Nora would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard where she can safely explore and play. She’d be happiest with an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and can provide her with plenty of playtime and attention. Her ideal family will also have an open heart and mind regarding the needs of rescued animals, understanding their journey and providing the necessary protection and education. Prior experience with dog behavior and training, as well as a high degree of patience, will help Nora continue to flourish.
Ongoing Health
Nora has been spayed and is up-to-date on her DHPPI, rabies, and Bordetella vaccines. She has also been dewormed and has a heartworm test certificate. She will be sent to her new home with a health certificate and her vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Nora is not yet house-trained, which is understandable given her past. The rescue organization dedicates significant effort to rehabilitating rescued pets, focusing on their health and emotional well-being, which makes individual house-training challenging for every foster. Nora will need continued patience and guidance as she learns this skill in her new home.
