Meet Chanel, a sweet and resilient 3 to 4-year-old terrier mix who is ready to blossom in a loving home. Chanel's journey started in a crowded New Mexico shelter where she was sadly found on a euthanasia list, terrified and shut down. Thankfully, she was rescued and brought to Texas, where she has transformed into an energetic and happy dog who even donates blood to help other animals in need! While her transformation is incredible, she is still learning to trust and needs a patient family to help her fully rebuild her faith in humanity. Chanel loves toys and balls, especially soft squeakers, though she can be a little startled by loud noises and is still figuring out how to play with them. Due to her past trauma, she can be flinchy when hands approach her, so she needs a gentle and understanding environment where she can take things at her own pace and feel truly safe.
Ideal Home
Chanel would thrive in a home with a patient and understanding family who can help her continue to build her confidence. She would also benefit from having a calm, canine companion to learn from and grow with.
Ongoing Health
Chanel is up-to-date on all vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, and Rabies vaccines, and has been spayed/neutered, microchipped, and is on flea and heartworm prevention.
Training & Support
Chanel is still working on building trust and needs gentle handling. She may be flinchy when hands reach towards her, so it's important to approach her slowly and let her come to you. Continued positive reinforcement and patience will help her thrive.

Transporation
Chanel is currently in Texas and is available for transportation to VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH, LA. AZ transport is coming soon! Transportation is provided in air-conditioned buses or vans with onboard attendants, and adopters can follow their pet's journey through a private Facebook event page. Pick-up locations are predetermined, and an adoption coordinator will help find the closest option. Private custom transport routes and destinations are available upon request. For adopters in Texas, there is a $250 flat rate fee for in-state transportation. For those picking up at our Angleton, TX location, there is a $75 fee that includes all vetting.
