Meet Trix, an 8-month-old, 35-pound spayed female Pitbull mix with the sweetest, smartest soul. Trix and her brother were surrendered to a shelter and while her brother found his forever home, Trix needed extra time in foster care to build her confidence. She was significantly undersocialized early in life, and her baseline is fear of humans, but she has never shown any reactivity. When unsure, she simply looks for a safe place to hide. Trix is gentle and quiet, and incredibly observant, picking things up quickly. She figured out a doggy door within a couple of days and is always learning. With patience and intentional time spent building trust, she grows more comfortable and may even surprise you by playing with toys, running with other dogs, or curling up on the couch.
Ideal Home
Trix needs a home where someone is around more often than not, both because she's still a puppy and because building trust takes time and consistency. She is not a ready-made confident dog, but a diamond in the rough who will require patience, compassion, and commitment. She does well with other dogs after proper acclimation, and we strongly believe she would thrive with a confident canine companion to follow and learn from. While not an absolute requirement, adopters without another dog should have a thoughtful plan for socialization and confidence building.

Trix is housebroken, loves her crate, and is learning to walk on a leash. She has been around kids and was shy at first. Her history with cats is unknown. She requires patience and commitment to help her find her courage and build trust.

Transporation
Trix is currently in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas. Transport is included in the adoption donation and she can transport once an adopter is matched. Transports run every few weeks, and she will be on the next available transport once approved.
