SASSY

Sassy is a delightful 6-year-old, 30 lb Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix with a tri-color coat. She's a smart and playful girl who knows basic commands like "sit," "stay," "lay down," and "high five." Sassy is potty trained and generally good in the car. While she can be a bit shy with new people, she warms up quickly once she sees they are friendly. She's leash-trained but can pull when excited.

Ideal Home

Sassy would do best in a home where her medium-to-high energy levels can be met. She can be possessive if triggered and will growl when she hears people at the door, so a home that can manage these behaviors is ideal. She has occasional separation anxiety and has destroyed shoes in the past, so supervision and appropriate chew toys will be important. She also has a tendency to steal food from the table if given the opportunity.

Ongoing Health

Sassy was vaccinated for Rabies on April 11, 2026. She is spayed and up to date on her vaccinations. She does not like the vet.

Training & Support

Sassy barks at the doorbell and if someone climbs on furniture. She needs continued leash training to manage pulling when excited. Consistent positive reinforcement will be key to helping her feel secure and manage her possessiveness and guarding behaviors. Management of food on tables and providing engaging activities will help curb food stealing and separation anxiety.
