Meet Penny Ruby Rose, a beautiful 7 or 8-year-old Redbone Coonhound mix who weighs around 80 pounds. Penny is a calm and quiet girl with exquisite manners. She's not interested in toys, but she absolutely loves going for walks and exploring the great outdoors. Penny enjoys playing with other dogs, especially smaller ones, and she's wonderful with children, showering them with kisses. She's also crate-trained and a great travel companion. Penny was surrendered by her previous owners because they couldn't give her the attention she deserves due to long work hours.
Ideal Home
Penny would thrive in a home with someone who enjoys a relaxed lifestyle, perhaps someone who is retired and has plenty of time to spend with her. A large, fenced-in yard would be a bonus, as would a family who can take her on multiple walks each day. While Penny is generally a mellow girl, she can get nervous around loud noises like thunderstorms or fireworks, so patience and understanding from her new family will be key.
Ongoing Health
Penny's teeth are worn down due to her past experiences. She is also diagnosed with Cushing's disease, which is easily managed with daily medication. She receives a monthly heartworm preventative. All dogs are up-to-date on vaccinations and are spayed or neutered at the time of adoption.
Training & Support
Penny is house-trained but may have occasional accidents as she adjusts to a new environment. Her new family should be prepared to offer patience and support during this transition. While she hasn't had formal obedience training, Penny knows "sit," "leave it," and "down." We believe all dogs benefit from professional training to become the best they can be.
