Stryker

Stryker, or Ryker as his foster mom calls him, is a sweet boy who came to us from a hoarding situation in New Mexico. He has made amazing progress in his foster home in ID over the past several weeks, gaining health, confidence, and blossoming out of his shell!

Ryker loves to play with his foster sister, a female dog, and has learned so much from her. He is also living with cats, and while it's still a work in progress, he's doing well! Because he previously lived on a chain, Ryker is a pro at walking on a leash. He has found his voice and is definitely living up to his Great Pyrenees heritage with his bark. His foster mom describes him as a smart couch potato with a wonderful disposition.

Ideal Home

Ryker is not comfortable around young children and can be quite scared of them. A home with older children or no children is preferred. A family who understands that dogs from hoarding situations may take time and have unique quirks is a must.

Ongoing Health

Ryker and the other dogs were initially thought to have Lupus, which caused sore noses. It's now believed to be photosensitive dermatitis. They are all being treated, and their noses are improving daily.

Training & Support

Ryker is house-trained and a pro at using the doggy door. He is great on a leash for walks.
