Griff

Meet Griff, an approximately 5-year-old neutered German Shepherd-Pit mix! Griff is a sweet, energetic, loyal, alert, and very intelligent dog who loves his human and canine friends. He was found abandoned and tied up in freezing temperatures in 2021, but thanks to dedicated training, he has gained confidence and a sense of safety. He enjoys hikes, backpacking, trail runs, biking, playing fetch, and learning new tricks. Griff is also well-behaved at home, snoozing on the couch when you're away, and is crate-trained and great on leash.

Ideal Home

Griff would thrive in an active home with a dedicated owner who can provide a structured and engaging lifestyle. He needs a home that is "reactive-dog savvy" and understands how to help him feel safe when meeting new people and dogs. Griff is not recommended for a home with children or cats.

Ongoing Health

Griff is up to date on his vaccines and is a generally healthy dog.

Training & Support

While Griff has made great progress with a dog trainer, he can be reactive towards new people and dogs. He needs a structured routine and time to feel safe before engaging with others. He should not meet other dogs off-leash, and strangers should not approach him directly for petting until he is calm.
