Barkley

Meet Barkley, a handsome Shepherd mix weighing around 35-40 pounds and standing knee-height. Barkley is incredibly sweet, well-behaved, and fully house-trained. He loves long walks, playing in the snow, and enjoying his favorite rawhide-alternative chew treats. He has never tried to get food out of the garbage or off the counter, and he has so much love to give. Barkley has already faced a life-or-death situation once before and is now in urgent need of a foster or adopter by the end of July to avoid returning to the shelter.

Ideal Home

Barkley needs a patient adopter who can help redirect his strong chase instinct with squirrels and small animals. Because he is not cat-friendly, Barkley needs a home with no cats or small animals. He has been friendly with most dogs he meets on walks, but slow and thoughtful dog introductions would be best.
