About AUSTIN

Austin is a survivor, having been rescued at just seven months old after Hurricane Harvey. He came to us with post-traumatic stress, but with the dedicated help of dog trainers and our vet, Austin has blossomed into the wonderful dog we always knew he could be. His joyful spirit and playful antics are a delight, and he's finally ready to find his forever home!

Ideal Home

Austin is an exuberant medium to high energy Labrador/Vizsla/Hound mix, born in 2017 and weighing around 55lbs. He absolutely loves to run and play with his toys in a yard, making him best suited for a home without an apartment. While he has a sweet temperament and no malice, his strength and enthusiasm mean he shouldn't be placed in a home with small children or small dogs. If there's another dog in the home, it should be a calm dog of similar size and age, and they would need a proper introduction. Austin does currently live with cats in his foster home.

Ongoing Health

Austin is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Our dog trainer raves about Austin! To ensure a smooth transition, his new family should be committed to providing clear structure for the first couple of months. An experienced large breed owner who understands canine structure would be ideal. He is crate trained, which will be a great asset for his new home.
