Leela Lou is believed to be a pit bull and Labrador Retriever mix, approximately 3 years old, and currently weighs 55 lbs. As with any rescue, breed and age are not guaranteed.
Leela absolutely loves people and considers everyone a friend. She's a pro at making new acquaintances in public, showering them with kisses if they'll allow it. If you enjoy hosting and entertaining, Leela is your ideal companion. She thrives on being the center of attention and excels at making guests feel welcome, all without being overwhelming. She knows when to socialize and when to unwind, happily cuddling up with guests or entertaining herself with her favorite toys.
She would be an excellent partner for hikes, beach trips, or visits to outdoor cafes. Leela walks well on a leash, rarely pulling except in her excitement to greet someone new. A backyard would be ideal for her to enjoy zoomies and play with her toys, which she loves to toss around. Evenings are best spent snuggled up with you. She is crate and potty trained, and already knows basic commands like "sit." Further training will be a breeze, as she is highly treat-motivated and eager to please.
Leela is dog-friendly and has done well with other dogs in public and in playgroups. However, Leela would be happiest as the sole canine in your home, soaking up all your love and attention. She has an abundance of affection to give, easily equivalent to five dogs combined!

Adopters in the Greater Houston area must pick up their pet.
