Auntie Em

Auntie Em is a stunning 50/50 German Shepherd Dog/Pitbull mix with a gorgeous dark brindle coat and captivating copper eyes that are sure to turn heads! At approximately 4.5 years old and weighing 64 pounds, this intelligent and energetic girl is ready to find her forever home. As a high-energy working breed mix, Em thrives on activity and mental stimulation, so potential adopters should be prepared to provide plenty of both.

Ideal Home

Auntie Em would do best as the only pet in the home, as she can be particular with other animals. She doesn't appreciate when other dogs are overly excited or dominant, and her cues can be subtle, requiring an owner who can learn to read and redirect her. Due to her prey drive, she cannot live in a home with cats or other small furry creatures. Em also requires a home without children under 12, as she can be protective of her food and treats, and has occasional bursts of energy.

Ongoing Health

Auntie Em is up-to-date on her vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed. She does experience seasonal allergies that are easily managed with occasional medication. She is currently on a poultry-free diet due to a sensitivity to chicken.

Training & Support

This smart girl knows some basic commands and is highly food motivated! She will benefit from some continued obedience training to further polish her manners. While she will use a crate, she isn't a fan. She can be trusted alone in the house with her toys, which she absolutely adores. Em also enjoys lounging on the couch and bed with her people. She does well in the car, initially a bit anxious but settles down.
