Chandler Goose is a wonderfully silly 3-year-old boy who is ready to find his forever family! He's a tall Doberman, possibly with a bit of "Warlock" or "King size" in him, and currently weighs around 85 lbs, with the potential to fill out to 95-110 lbs. Chandler loves to chase balls and play with ropes. He's a vocal communicator, letting you know when he wants attention or needs to go outside. Having spent time kenneled at the shelter, he's working on his comfort with crates, practicing overnight stays and doing well. When inside or crated, he can be an anxious chewer and likes to "suck" on blankets, but he's happy to sleep on a dog bed, couch, or the floor. He is learning boundaries with baby gates and doesn't push doors open or past people. Chandler knows "sit" and walks beautifully on a leash. He barks at people and things from a distance but isn't aggressive.
Ideal Home
Chandler will need a family who understands and can help him with his initial anxiety. He barks at new things and people, but he warms up quickly, usually offering kisses by the second meeting! Give him about 48 hours in a new home to start feeling comfortable. He needs a confident human to help him feel secure. Because of his size and tendency to lunge at things that startle him, his ideal home would have older children to ensure everyone's safety. He would also love to have dog friends and a yard to play in. He should not be exercised at a dog park due to his size and developing social skills.
Ongoing Health
Chandler is vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered. He has tested negative for heartworms and is on prevention.
Training & Support
Chandler is working on his house training and socialization skills. He has a "puppy brain" but is very trainable and eager to please. He has a tendency to jump on people and pull at objects in someone's hand, so he'll need continued guidance. Chandler requires owners with breed experience to help him adjust successfully to a new home.

Transporation
Chandler Goose is being fostered in Texas. He can be transported to the PNW, Midwest, or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states. The adoption fee includes the cost of an XL crate for transport.
