Nueces

Nueces is the sweetest and most expressive pup, with eyes that will always be on you, showing how much she loves, trusts, and needs you. She never strays far from her human family and while she's not a huge cuddler, she loves being near and enjoys belly rubs. Nueces is a smart and quick learner, though her instincts sometimes take over. She is a protector of her pack, both human and canine, and will bark at unfamiliar approaches, but stops immediately after introductions, showing her trust. She's described as very soulful!

Training & Support

Nueces is learning not to jump for food, but a stern voice reminds her to sit. She is food motivated and trains well with treats. She understands "sit" and "gentle" in English and Spanish. She can hold her bladder all night and prefers to go to the bathroom away from her living area. Nueces does not yet understand a leash but responds to a whistle. She has not yet learned to play with toys but enjoys playing gently with other dogs. She has not exhibited destructive chewing behavior, focusing her energy on finding food.
