Daisie Duke is a 1-year-old, 40lb mixed breed female with a heart full of love and a spirit that's blossoming. She arrived at our shelter from North Carolina, seeking a fresh start, and has since shown incredible progress in gaining confidence. Daisie is a snuggle bug who truly appreciates the safety and affection of her humans, often showing her gratitude with the sweetest kisses. She can be timid at first and takes time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she's ready to take on the world with you by her side. You might even catch her trying to sneak closer when she's curious but a bit shy! She's making strides in overcoming her fearfulness; while she used to be startled by everyday things like the washer or dryer, she now only occasionally freezes when surprised by something new. Her spunky personality shines through as she enjoys her toys, playing fetch, cozy beds, and cuddling. She has medium, puppy-like energy, enjoying zoomies outside but also happy to relax on the couch with you.
Ideal Home
Daisie would benefit from a fenced-in yard to safely enjoy her zoomies and provide extra security in case she feels nervous in her new environment. She is good with other dogs and children of any age with proper supervision. Her cat-friendliness is currently unknown.

Training & Support
Daisie is house-trained but will have occasional accidents as she is still adjusting to her potty routine. She consistently pees outside but isn't always consistent with going out. She is doing well in a playpen and crate, finding comfort in them. She is also good on a leash, though she may freeze sometimes when encountering new things, she will look to you for reassurance. She is working on building confidence and overcoming her timidity.
