Gunner

My name is Gunner, and I’m a 45-pound hound mix with a big heart and a love for life’s simple joys. I’m laid-back by nature, but I light up when it’s playtime. Toys are my jam—ropes, frisbees, tug-of-war—you name it! I’m also an expert squeaker hunter (though fair warning, once the squeaker’s out, I lose interest in the toy). I really like kids and will fill your day with plenty of love and affection. I’ve got so much potential just waiting to shine, and all I need is a home where I can be myself—a happy, carefree dog.

Ideal Home

A home that understands my need for a toy-free environment with other dogs. I am not good with other dogs as I don’t like to share my toys, food or water with them.

Ongoing Health

I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and microchipped. I am starting to lose my hearing, so I'd need to be extra cautious if allowed off leash.

Training & Support

I walk like a champ on leash and follow off-leash pretty well, but due to my declining hearing, it’s best to be cautious if allowed off leash as I may not hear you call me back. I am both crate and house-trained. Don’t worry, I’m totally comfortable with people around me while I eat and play.

I’m currently staying in a foster home in Hampton, Virginia, but I can travel out of state for the right family (a transport fee applies).
