Tater is a 6-year-old Terrier hound mix with enthusiasm that’s as boundless as his affection. With his irresistibly squishy face and big, expressive eyes, he’s a total charmer who leaves everyone infatuated. Tater isn’t about having too much energy these days—he’s about joy, turning every day into an exciting new experience. Whether it’s a hike, a walk in the park, or a long car ride to nowhere in particular, Tater is happiest when he’s by your side, exploring the world.

Tater’s playful streak is mild now but matched by his sharp mind. He’s quick to pick up on commands and thrives on positive reinforcement, especially when there’s praise or a cuddle waiting for him at the end. He’s the kind of dog who will look at you with pure admiration, reminding you that to him, you’re the most important person in the world.

Tater has a tender side. After a short while of activity, he loves to wind down with his favorite people, soaking up all the belly rubs and snuggles he can get. Ongoing Health

Tater is a healthy boy. His adoption fee includes all vetting, including DAPP, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, flea prevention, heartworm testing and prevention, and micro-chipping.

Training & Support

Tater is a smart boy who learns quickly and responds well to positive reinforcement. He enjoys praise and cuddles as rewards. He is a rescue dog and will benefit from continued training efforts and understanding as he continues to grow into the best dog he can be.

Transportation

Tater is currently in Houston, TX. He is available for adoption in VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, & TN, KY, IL,& IN, OH. Our dogs are transported via a USDA licensed semi-truck equipped with air conditioning and attended by two drivers and two onboard attendants providing 24-hour care. For East Coast adoptions, transport is via a private, air-conditioned van. You will be able to follow your pet's journey through a private Facebook Event page, where you can connect with other adopters and receive updates. Our Adoption Coordinator will help you find the closest transport pick-up location.
