About Ginger

Meet Ginger, a sweet and loving soul with a past that's a bit of a mystery. Despite life's challenges, Ginger is ready for a calm and patient home where she can feel safe and cherished. She's estimated to be 6-7 years old and weighs around 33 lbs. Ginger has had puppies in the past and is now focused on enjoying a comfy, happy life. She absolutely loves people and her happiest moments are spent with her foster mom, enjoying cuddles and affection. She also loves being brushed! When you leave, Ginger settles well in her crate with a treat and rests until you return. If you're looking for a loyal companion who just wants to be near her person and have a soft place to land, Ginger might be the perfect match for you.

Ideal Home

Ginger would thrive in a predictable environment and would prefer a home without small children, as they might startle her due to her low vision. She would likely be happiest as the only dog, though she has shown some interest in playing with other dogs in her foster home. Ginger is not a match for a home with cats. Our rescue is foster-based and cannot hold dogs for future adoption due to travel, home renovations, or schedule changes. Adopters must be prepared to welcome their new companion within a reasonable timeframe.

Ongoing Health

Ginger has low vision due to an unknown cause. She takes daily medication for seizures, and since starting her medication, she has not had a seizure in two months. She takes her medication well and is doing great. We ask adopters to understand that rescue dogs may need time to decompress and adjust.

Training & Support

Ginger enjoys resting in her crate when her people leave the house and goes in willingly for a treat. She is learning to interact with other dogs in her foster home.
