About Danny

Danny is a distinguished gentleman estimated to be around 12 years old, weighing in at a solid 65 lbs with a mostly black coat. He arrived at our rescue with no prior history, but it was clear he'd faced some challenges. He was dealing with fur loss due to flea allergies, along with eye and ear infections. Thankfully, with some dedicated care, including baths and veterinary treatment, Danny is already showing a remarkable improvement! His fur has regrown beautifully, and he's gained a healthy amount of weight. While his eyes have cleared up, he still has some lingering ear infections and may also have some age-related hearing loss. He does get a bit anxious during thunderstorms, so a little extra reassurance might be needed during those times. Danny used to dislike his crate, but he's now willing to settle in, especially after his foster mom discovered he enjoys a good chew on bones and cow hooves!

Ideal Home

Danny thrives in a home with another dog, as he doesn't do well when left alone. He has shown he is house-trained and gets along well with other dogs, including cats, who he mostly ignores. He enjoys the company of new people, especially teenagers. His activity needs are moderate, and he would prefer a home where he can relax and chew on his favorite toys.

Ongoing Health

Danny is being treated for ear infections and has a possible age-related hearing impairment. He also showed sensitivity to thunderstorms.

Training & Support

Danny pulls on the leash and will need some leash training. He is very food motivated, which makes him a great candidate for learning new commands and tricks. He also enjoys being towel-dried after baths or coming in from the rain.
