About Comet

Comet is a 3-year-old, neutered male, hound/retriever mix weighing 56 pounds. He's a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to please and cuddle. Comet was rescued from the streets and is now in a foster home, ready to find his forever family! He has a balanced playstyle and enjoys a good zoomie session.

Ideal Home

Comet would be happiest in a home with another dog to play and snuggle with. He has done well with indoor cats and children, but due to his herding instincts, a home with children aged 10 and older, or those who can understand animal behavior cues, is recommended. He can be a bit wary of men initially but warms up with patience and consistency.

Ongoing Health

Comet is up-to-date on all vaccinations and has been neutered. No specific health conditions were mentioned in his listing.

Training & Support

Comet is fully house, crate, and leash trained. He sleeps through the night in his crate without issue and does not pull on the leash. He alerts when he needs to go potty and hasn't had any accidents in the house since being in foster care. While he doesn't appear to have separation anxiety, he should be crated when unsupervised as he enjoys tasting things. Comet is easy to train and responds well to positive reinforcement.
