Meet Raya!

Raya's story is one of resilience and unwavering loyalty. She was found heartbroken, refusing to leave her sibling's side after a tragic accident on a busy highway. Thankfully, a kind volunteer intervened, and Raya began her journey towards a new, loving life. Today, she's a happy, athletic, and incredibly funny young dog. Her playful "zoomies" are a sight to behold, as she bounces like a deer, guaranteed to bring laughter. Raya is an adventurer at heart, eager for walks, car rides, hiking, and exploring. She loves being outdoors and would thrive with a securely fenced yard for her escapades.

Ideal Home

Raya longs to be a central part of her family's life, seeking closeness and cuddles. She's looking for a home where she can be your constant companion, whether on the couch or (eventually) taking over your bed. A cat-free home is a must, as cats are a little too exciting for her.

Ongoing Health

All dogs in our care are vet-checked, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.

Training & Support

Raya needs slow, positive introductions to new people and dogs. While she's incredibly affectionate and loyal once she trusts, she appreciates a little time to warm up. Due to this, she may do best as an only dog, especially for adopters unfamiliar with her introduction needs. She has been known to experience some separation anxiety and is crated when left alone. A home where someone is not gone for 8-10 hours a day would be ideal.

Transporation

Raya is currently located in South Mississippi. Local and out-of-town adopters are welcome. Transportation to New Orleans or Pensacola is available.
