Meet Tanner — the free spirit with a brilliant mind and a heart of gold. 🐾💙 Tanner is a survivor of a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Deep South Texas. After his owner passed away, over 20 Huskies and German Shepherds were found living inside a home. A dedicated rescue stepped in to save all 24 dogs, and now, only a handful remain, with Tanner being one of the unforgettable personalities still waiting for his forever home. From the moment he arrived, Tanner made an impression with his incredible personality, charm, and intelligence, quickly making him a staff favorite. He’s the kind of dog who seems to understand everything—observant, curious, and always one step ahead.
Ideal Home
Tanner thrives when he has the ability to come and go as he pleases. His ideal home will understand and respect his independence. A securely fenced yard with a doggie door is a must, giving him the freedom he loves while keeping him safe.
Ongoing Health
Tanner is fully vetted, neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and heartworm negative.
Training & Support
Tanner is an escape artist extraordinaire and has a knack for figuring out how to get out of kennels, pens, and rooms. However, despite his ability to leave, he chooses not to and has never attempted to leave the rescue property. He simply enjoys his freedom and being part of the action. Because of this, Tanner has earned the unique privilege of being allowed to freely roam the property, and he enjoys going indoors only on his own terms.
