Athena, 1 year old (estimated DOB May 2025), is a spayed female Terrier mix who currently weighs 35 pounds. She was found with her five siblings in the woods, a sad story that highlights her resilience and need for a loving home. Athena is an active and curious young dog with a playful, affectionate personality and a love for life that includes enthusiastic zoomies! She's making great progress in her development, catching up on classic puppy stages with consistency, patience, and structure. Athena is eager to engage and is learning to be a great canine companion.
Ideal Home
Athena would thrive in an active home that can provide daily physical exercise and mental enrichment. She needs plenty of appropriate chew toys and continued guidance as she works through normal puppy behaviors. A home committed to ongoing training, structure, and socialization, while embracing her fun-loving personality, is ideal. Patience and consistency are key as she continues to mature into an amazing adult dog.

Athena is spayed and up to date on vaccinations. She is still in a chewing phase and will need plenty of appropriate chew toys.
Training & Support
Athena already knows "sit," "down," "drop it," and "come," showing impressive progress. She is smart, eager to learn, and will continue to thrive with positive reinforcement and ongoing training. She currently lives with older dogs and is actively learning social boundaries, especially recognizing when other dogs are finished playing. While she hasn't been directly tested with cats, due to her strong play drive, a cat-savvy home with slow introductions and clear boundaries might work, though a home without cats may be ideal.

Athena is currently in San Antonio, Texas, and is available for transport once matched with an adopter. Transport is included in the adoption donation.
