Loki is a 6.5-month-old, male Retriever/Pit Bull mix who currently weighs 40 pounds and is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. He was rescued from the woods with his mother and siblings and has grown up in a loving foster home. Loki is a fearless, bold, and entertaining puppy who loves to explore and play. He's a master at "furniture parkour" and enjoys games of keep-away with his favorite toys. Loki is also potty-trained, though occasional accidents may occur as he adjusts to a new routine. While brave, he can be a little hesitant with new experiences, but quickly overcomes it. He loves food and will happily work for treats. Despite his playful energy, Loki also has a sweet, cuddly side and enjoys snuggling after a day of adventures. He's friendly with people and other dogs and has enjoyed meeting children. He has experience with crates for short periods and is continuing to practice leash skills and basic obedience.
Ideal Home
Loki would thrive in a home committed to reinforcing good manners, building his confidence, and helping him mature. A home with another friendly, well-mannered dog is preferred to help mentor him, but a plan for continued socialization through training classes, daycare, or playdates is acceptable. We also prefer homes where someone isn't routinely away for more than four to six hours at a time to ensure he gets regular potty breaks, exercise, enrichment, and interaction.
Ongoing Health
Loki is a young, growing dog and is still learning about the world.
Training & Support
Loki is potty-trained but may have occasional accidents as he adjusts to a new routine. He is continuing to practice his leash skills and basic obedience and is eager to learn. Ongoing positive reinforcement, consistency, and continued leash practice will help him thrive. Continued socialization with new people, places, sounds, and friendly dogs is crucial for building his lifelong confidence.
