About Brie

** This is an Out Of Town listing. We transport to the city on this listing. Please apply at www.bit.ly/mu-adopt **

Meet Brie!

When Brie first arrived at an overcrowded shelter, life had not been kind to her. Her back end was nearly bald, her body and spirit worn down, and she was heartworm positive. But Brie never gave up. With proper care, treatment, and time to heal, she has blossomed into the stunning girl you see today. Her once-thin coat has grown back into a gorgeous, healthy fluff that matches her resilience.

At about 2 years and 9 months old and just over 60lbs, Brie is a livestock guardian breed, which means she comes with some very special traits. These dogs were bred to think for themselves, protect what they love, and carefully assess their surroundings. Because of that, Brie isn’t the “everyone is my best friend instantly” type—and that’s okay. She’s thoughtful, observant, and loyal once she decides you’re part of her circle.

Brie may need a little time to warm up to new dog friends. True to her guardian nature, she’s cautious with unfamiliar dogs at first but relaxes once she realizes they mean no harm. She would appreciate respectful canine companions who understand that her food bowl is off limits.

Cats are still a mystery to Brie, though squirrels have definitely caught her attention before. She does well with a secure fence and has shown no interest in digging or climbing her way out.

While Brie hasn’t had much experience living indoors, she has done well in a kennel environment—no accidents or tearing up her bedding. With patience and the right home, she may very well settle into indoor life just fine.

Because of her breed and her sensitive personality, Brie would thrive with someone familiar with livestock guardian breeds or someone eager to learn and appreciate their unique quirks. These dogs form deep bonds with their people, and once Brie chooses you, you’ll have a loyal friend for life.

Brie has already come so far from the rough shape she arrived in. Now all she’s missing is the one thing every dog deserves: a loving, committed home where she can finally feel safe, valued, and truly belong.

If you think you might be the person Brie has been waiting for, please apply to adopt at the link below.
