Domino is a twelve-year-old American Pitbull Terrier with a handsome black-and-white coat. He's a calming presence who loves simple pleasures like leisurely walks, peaceful car rides, sunny spots, and spending time near his favorite people. Domino is content to nap nearby while you work from home or to join you on errands. He's often described as an old soul, offering a steady and comforting presence during both good and challenging times. He is house-trained, non-destructive, microchipped, neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. Domino is also friendly with other dogs and may be compatible with cats with proper introductions. He knows commands like sit, stay, and down, though he's a bit rusty.
Ideal Home
Domino would thrive in a calm, low-stress home with an experienced pet parent who appreciates the needs of a senior companion. He is not comfortable living with toddlers or young children due to warning nips, and must be placed in a home without toddlers or young children who visit regularly. He may be suitable for families with respectful children approximately eight years of age and older who can understand and honor his boundaries.
Ongoing Health
Domino receives medication for arthritis and a digestive condition. He has a heart murmur that is monitored but does not require medication. His hearing is fading. A medication stipend is available to the right family to help support his ongoing senior care needs.
Training & Support
Domino knows commands such as sit, stay, and down, though he is a little rusty. He has shown that living with toddlers is not comfortable for him and has given warning nips toward young children. A professional trainer familiar with Domino has evaluated these behaviors and believes they are communication signals rather than indications of a desire to injure. To help him feel secure and set him up for success, Domino must be placed in a home without toddlers or young children who visit regularly.
