About ZIGGY - lover boy!

Please let us introduce Ziggy. If this sweet fellow could tell us his story, we know it would be a sad one. He was found wandering in an abandoned lot in very poor condition with half of his fur missing. One can only imagine what his former life was like. His kind rescuer picked him up and brought him to the local vet clinic. When the vet saw Ziggy's condition, she personally took him into her home to care for him. After months of nursing and lots of TLC, he is now a happy, healthy boy ready and waiting for his forever home.

Ziggy is about 7 years old and weighs about 70 pounds. He has gotten a bit chunky during his recovery, but he’ll slim right down once he’s in his forever home with more regular exercise. Our best guess as to his breed is a lab/shepherd mix. Like most rescues, he’s a bit of a “Heinz 57” dog... the best kind. What we know about Ziggy is that he’s a friendly, outgoing, and playful boy who will thrive in a home where he’s loved and treated kindly.

Ideal Home

Ziggy is fostered with a female dog about the same age and they get along very nicely. He has not been observed around cats, but considering his nature, he’d likely do fine with a dog-savvy kitty. Though there are no children in his foster home, this guy loves everyone he meets and we think he’d be great with kids old enough to interact appropriately with dogs.

Ongoing Health

Ziggy is neutered, micro-chipped, and up to date with vaccinations.

Training & Support

Ziggy is house trained, crate trained, and leash trained.
