Violet is a one-year-old Shepherd mix, weighing around 40 pounds, who was rescued earlier this year after being hit by a car. She sustained significant damage to her foot and some cognitive challenges. After months of rehabilitation, including surgery to remove one of her toes, and a lot of TLC, she is now ready for adoption! Violet has such a sweet demeanor and not a mean bone in her body. She absolutely adores playing with other playful dogs and would prefer a home that has another super playful dog and/or pack of dogs. She is incredibly shy and still working on building her confidence, so having other dogs to show her the ropes is imperative. While she is extremely friendly, she can often be terrified of humans and will need an adoptive home that is patient and will continue to work with her socialization. She prefers women over men and will likely bond quicker with a female caretaker in a quiet setting. She is incredibly sweet, and once she builds trust with you, she will give you kisses and be by your side. She has been around children and was fine, but we think she would do best in a home with no small children. Violet loves playing; her favorite thing to do is playing in the backyard with her doggy foster siblings. She also really loves toys, and for being such a small dog, she sure can go through them quickly! She will need a very secured 6ft privacy fenced-in backyard to ensure her safety and to make sure she cannot escape.
Ideal Home
Violet would thrive in a home with another playful dog or a pack of dogs to help her build confidence. She needs a quiet setting and would do best in a home with no small children. A securely fenced 6ft privacy fence is a must for her safety.
Ongoing Health
Violet had surgery to remove one of her toes due to injuries sustained from being hit by a car.
Training & Support
Violet is shy and can be terrified of humans, requiring patience and continued socialization. She has been working on her potty training skills and does well in her crate. She is also pretty good about using the bathroom on a pad. She will thrive best in a home with experience with extremely shy dogs.
