Lily

Meet Lily! This sweet, loving shepherd mix is 5 years old and weighs about 65 pounds. She was rescued from Mexico as a puppy and has a gentle soul. Lily can be timid at first, but she warms up quickly to her caregivers. Her favorite thing is to stare into your eyes while you stroke her face. She also has a goofy side – when she's excited, often about food or attention, her whole body wiggles with her wagging tail!

Lily loves to bask in the sun or sit by an open door to enjoy a fresh breeze and nature sounds. She enjoys walks, but she's also a bit of a homebody and can get tired on long hikes or runs. Loud noises like fireworks can startle her, and she'll try to find a hiding spot in a closet or pantry if she hears them.

Ideal Home

Lily would do well in a home that can provide her with gentle affection and a calm environment. She should be fine with older children.

Ongoing Health

Lily is spayed, healthy, and up to date on her vaccinations. A couple of years ago, she had surgery for a torn ACL ligament and has recovered well. She experienced some joint pain for a while, but this seemed to improve once she lost some weight.

Training & Support

Lily is house-trained and knows some basic commands. She is very food-motivated, which can be a great asset for continued training.
