Caramel is spirited, affectionate, and heartbreakingly loyal. She was found wandering a dirt road with her mother, Oreo, and though their bond helped them survive, it also left lasting impacts. Sadly, Oreo became unsafe for Caramel, and they were separated out of necessity for both their safety. Caramel is estimated to be around 2 years old and is a strong-willed, high-energy young adult who thrives with structure and purpose. She is reserved at first but warms with time, especially when trust is built slowly. Once she feels secure, she becomes deeply affectionate and craves human attention. Caramel is a dog who understands survival, and now she's looking for guidance to find peace.
Ideal Home
Caramel does best in a calm, experienced home with clear boundaries and confident leadership. She has not been exposed to children and would not be a good fit for homes with small children or elderly pets. She can be sensitive to new situations and needs patience as she settles.
Ongoing Health
No specific health conditions were mentioned in the listing.
Training & Support
Caramel is still learning important life skills, including leash walking and potty training, and she will need an experienced handler familiar with behavior modification and positive, structured training. She must be the only dog, as she does not enjoy being around other dogs and can become reactive. She also has an extreme prey drive and is not suitable for homes with cats or small animals. She has shown strong resource guarding behaviors and is happiest and safest when she doesn’t have to compete for space, attention, or resources.
