River

Meet River, a sweet and fluffy livestock guardian mix puppy with a gentle spirit and a bright future ahead of him. River and his littermates came to our rescue after their owner experienced medical issues that made it impossible to continue caring for the farm and its animals. As a result, the puppies and both parents are now searching for loving new homes where they can thrive. While we're still getting to know River's individual personality, we do know that both of his parents have worked as livestock guardian dogs. His father is an Anatolian Shepherd mix, and his mother is a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix. Based on his parentage, River is expected to grow into a large to giant breed dog, potentially weighing 80-120+ pounds as an adult.

Ideal Home

Livestock guardian breeds are known for being loyal and devoted to their families, intelligent and independent thinkers, protective by nature, calm and watchful companions, and well-suited for homes that understand guardian breeds.

Ongoing Health

River is currently 6 weeks old. He has received his first puppy vaccine and has been dewormed. He will need to continue receiving veterinary care as he grows.

Training & Support

As River is still a young puppy, he will need continued socialization and training to help him learn and grow. We are looking for foster families who can help him thrive while we continue getting to know his unique personality.

Transporation

River is currently with a foster. We adopt both locally and out of state. If you are not local, we work with a USDA-licensed pet transport service that offers scheduled delivery routes throughout the Northeast and Great Lakes regions, making it easy for River to safely travel to his new home.
