Luna - Good Dogs Shouldn't Run Out of Time

Luna is a sweet, approximately 50-pound Hound mix who found herself in an unfortunate situation through no fault of her own. She was originally left with an elderly couple by a friend of their granddaughter, and now they are overwhelmed while also helping raise their grandchildren. Her current owner is considering euthanasia because he can no longer care for her, and we are desperately trying to prevent a tragic ending for a truly good dog. The owner has been looking for months for a new home for Luna because he cannot bring himself to take her to an overcrowded shelter, where she would be killed. At the same time, he cannot keep her. Luna is not a problem dog; she's simply a victim of circumstances. She lives peacefully with another older dog and is walked several times a day.

Ideal Home

We recommend that Luna is placed in a home with older children since she is very energetic and may be too rough for toddlers.

Ongoing Health

Luna needs updated vaccinations and heartworm prevention.

Training & Support

Luna is young and energetic and needs regular walks. Her current family is afraid she could pull them down during walks, so consistent leash training will be beneficial.
