Meet River!
River is a spirited six-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier mix with a heart of gold and a shiny coat to match. Weighing around 50 pounds, she's a medium-sized dynamo who's always up for an adventure with her favorite humans. River absolutely blossoms with affection, especially from men, and her happiest moments are spent snuggled under the covers, soaking up warmth and companionship after a day filled with fun. She's completed formal obedience training and knows commands like sit, lay down, wait, and kennel up, demonstrating her eagerness to learn and connect through positive reinforcement. River is also house-trained, comfortable being left alone for short periods, and enjoys car rides, making her a fantastic companion for everyday life and weekend getaways.
Ideal Home
River needs a home where she can be the star of the show as the only pet. She needs a confident, experienced owner who understands energetic dogs and can provide consistent structure, guidance, and clear boundaries. A home with teenagers or adults would be the best fit, as River may not tolerate young children who are loud, grabby, or unpredictable.
Ongoing Health
River has occasional skin sensitivity that is well managed with vitamins, keeping her comfortable and happy.
Training & Support
River has completed formal obedience training and knows several commands. She has shown strong reactivity toward other animals, particularly cats and small dogs, and a serious past incident involving a cat has occurred, so a pet-free home is essential. She may feel uneasy around loud noises like drills or hair dryers, but with understanding and support, she settles beautifully into a calm and cuddly companion.
