Reed

Reed is a charming 5-year-old American Bully and Boxer mix with a unique gait that his foster mom affectionately calls "ducky" because of the way he slaps his front paws when he walks. He's a social butterfly who absolutely adores meeting new people and going for walks, wishing he could do both all day, every day! Reed truly makes friends wherever he goes.

Ideal Home

Reed would thrive in a calm home where he can enjoy leisurely strolls. He needs to be kept out of high heat environments and would appreciate a family who can give him all the love and attention he desires. While he enjoys the company of other dogs, he would also do well as a solo pet, as he shouldn't get too overexcited with vigorous activity. His favorite pastime is basking in the sun on a window bench after his morning walks.

Ongoing Health

Reed has a heart condition called subaortic valvular stenosis and aortic insufficiency, which means his heart works extra hard to pump blood. He is on daily medication, which is effectively managed by his cardiologist, and will require this medication for the rest of his life. Biannual visits with his cardiologist are also necessary.

Training & Support

Reed knows some basic commands and is eager to learn more. He walks well on a leash, though he can be strong when he's excited to greet someone. He is also crate trained, housebroken, and a good car rider.
