SweetPlayfulHighly TrainableBarkus was found wandering the streets and got along with every dog he met. Each finder describes him as the sweetest boy (see photos). We don’t know his story, but he came in rough shape but a happy and gentle heart. He gets along great with his foster sister(pit mix) and brother (chihuahua mix). He enjoys running and playing with his foster sister. He is highly trainable and treat motivated, sitting right away for treats, for his harness and giving his paw for more pets. He knows sit, paw, “bang bang!” ( lay down), spin and lays down in the car before exiting. No signs of food aggression and gentle when given treats. What a good boy!He is crate trained, walking into his crate with no hesitation and no fuss. I give him a treat in his crate before I leave the house, so he gets excited to be in his crate. I work from home and he doesn’t mind just laying around (free roam) until my work day is over. When he does bark at people or dogs through the window, I call his name and shake some treats, and he diverts his attention to me immediately.Barkus enjoys chewing on ice, fruit, berries, sunbathing, chasing lizards, playing fetch, cuddling, toys and car rides. He can be coaxed into bath time with a peanut butter lick pad.Could use leash training, but he’s getting better each day. He gets excited to be on walks and is strong. He also seems to have a bit of leash activity with dogs, but given his record of friendliness with other dogs when he’s off leash (see photos), he may just need some basic training. He may require slow introductions to children as he doesn’t seem to understand them yet. I’m confident that he’ll warm up quickly, once he understands he’s safe.Barkus seems to just want to be loved and is the sweetest boy around. Would do best with confident dog owner who can give him some basic training to be the perfect companion Primary Color: Grey Secondary Color: White Weight: 61lbs Age: 2yrs 4mths 2wks Animal has been Neutered
